New Release: The Pact by Karina Halle

We are so excited to celebrate the release of Karina Halle’s THE PACT, a standalone, contemporary adult romance.

It all started with a pinky swear…

Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and gunslinger handsome; a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to spare. He’s also one of Stephanie Robson’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as she’s known him.

Beautiful, funny and an ambitious businesswoman (with one hell of an ass), Stephanie Robson is one of Linden McGregor’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he’s known her.

But some relationships can’t be boxed, can’t be classified, can’t be tamed.

Back in their mid-twenties and tired of the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them are in a serious relationship by the time they hit thirty.

It sounds like fun and games but as the years to thirty tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact becomes larger than life.

Sex is inevitable. Friendships are tested. Hearts are on the line.

The pact is about to change everything.

Karina Halle is a former travel writer and music journalist and the USA Today Bestselling author of Love, in English, The Artists Trilogy, and other wild and romantic reads. She lives in a 1920s farmhouse on an island off the coast of British Columbia with her husband and her rescue pup, where she drinks a lot of wine, hikes a lot of trails and devours a lot of books.

Best of 2014 Blog Hop + Giveaway: Day 7 – Favorite Book Moments

Ali’s Favorite Moments:

1 – There is this one scene in Bang by E.K. Blair, that involves…well, urination. I won’t say more.

2 – That ONE scene, when that ONE thing happens, that really amazing ONE thing in Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. Again, I won’t say more – no spoilers, and all – if you’ve read it you know!

3 – The end of Monster in His Eyes by JM Darhower. I really did not enjoy the book until the end, which made up for a lot.  It was a great ending and the only thing that made me read the second book.

4 – In One To Love by Tia Louise there is a moment of profound forgiveness. I’m not sure I can wrap my mind around what it would take to overcome the situation these characters face, I don’t think I could ever be a big enough person.  Because of that, it’s really stuck with me.

5 –  The first BJ in Try by Ella Frank.  😉

Debbie’s Favorite Reads:

1 – The scene in Missionary Position by Daisy Prescott where Kai and Selah were coming back from the wildlife refuge and they had to stop at a roadblock. I felt every bit of Selah’s panic and fear in that scene. The scene wasn’t very long but I was wound up in such a tight ball of emotions that I didn’t even know I was crying while reading that part.

2 – The french toast scene in The Wild Side by R.K. Lilley. That scene would be the only way I would ever want to make french toast.

3 – The epilogue in This Man Confessed by Jodi Ellen Malpas. Daddy Jesse Ward is just too damn cute!

4 – First time Archer and Bree kissed in Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. It was just so sweet and as a reader I was totally excited for Archer. Dude. First Kiss Ever is a big deal.

5 – Have to agree with Ali and say that the ending of Monster in His Eyes by J.M. Darhower was pretty damn good. The place her characters ended up at the end was very interesting and made me want to read that second book so bad.

Best of 2014 Blog Hop + Giveaway: Day 6 – Favorite Audiobooks

Wanna know what’s better than reading? Reading books while you’re on the go. Audiobooks are a great alternative if you are the kind of person that likes to multi-task. Going on a long road trip? Pop in an audiobook and get lost in a magical book world while you’re navigating the highways. Don’t want to talk to that creeper sitting next to you on the bus or subway? Put on your headphones and listen to what your favorite book characters are up to. With a society that’s always on the go, audiobooks are a great way to keep you up-to-date on your TBR. Here’s a list of the audiobooks that had us entertained this past yer…..

Ali’s Favorites:

1 – This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas [Narrator: Edita Brychta]
2 – Clipped Wings by Helena Hunting [Narrator: Jason Carpenter, Elizabeth Louise]
3 – Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren [Narrator: Grace Grant]
4 – Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry [Narrator: MacLeod Andrews, Tara Sands]
5 – Tied With Me by Kristen Proby [Narrator: Jennifer Mack] Honestly, all of Proby’s With Me are good on audio – the narrator is amazing.

Debbie’s Favorites:
*Note:  I find it difficult to “read” a book for the first time in audiobook format so, all the books I’ve listed are of books I have read (and love) in print format first this past year (or years).

1 – The King (Black Dagger Brotherhood #12) by J.R. Ward [Narrator: Jim Frangione] Black Dagger Brotherhood is hands down one of the best series in audio. I own every book in this series and can’t get enough of it. Jim Frangione is top notch.
2 – This Man Confessed by Jodi Ellen Malpas [Narrator: Edita Brychta] Edita has fast become one of my favorite female narrators. Her British accent is so pleasant to one’s ears. She narrates both of Jodi Ellen Malpas’ series and they are both fantastic listens.
3 – Tangled by Emma Chase [Narrator: Sebastian York] Any audiobook that Sebastian York narrates is bound to be good. That man’s voice is just so sexy.
4 – Motorcycle Man (Dream Man #4) by Kristen Ashley [Narrator: Kate Russell] If you’re a fan of Kristen Ashley’s Dream Man series then you need to listen to them in audio. Kate Russell plays all of the heroines so well.
5 – On Dublin Street by Samantha Young [Narrator: Paula Costello] This audiobook really should be listed as one of my favorite audiobooks for life. I’ve been listening to it for almost a year and a half. Paula Costello is just so good and I can’t get enough of this story.

For Erica and Cole, the bond of friendship was forged in childhood.

Now, torn and broken by grief, that bond will become paramount as two
friends look to one another for comfort, strength, and hope in the
aftermath of loss. On a journey taken both together and alone, Erica and
Cole search for healing and life born anew. Although when mistakes,

And with it, so does the understanding that sometimes, the sturdiest
foundation for the future lies buried in the dust of the past. Because,
for some people…

…love is friendship caught on fire.
