People think they have Camille Logan nailed: daddy’s girl; beautiful, spoiled young woman with her father’s bank balance to fund her lifestyle. But Camille is determined to have a life free from his strings. Out on her own, she’s made mistakes, including one that found her clawing her way back after a stint in rehab and plenty of bad press. Now, after fighting so hard to be independent and happy, she finds her life threatened as a result of her father’s ruthless business dealings. Caught between resentment and fear, Camille prepares herself for the measures her father will take to protect her. But nothing could prepare her for the ex-SAS sniper who crashes into her life.

Jake Sharp resides in his own personal hell. He was distracted from duty once before, and the consequences were devastating–both personally and professionally. He vowed never to let that happen again. Accepting the job of bodyguard to Camille Logan isn’t the kind of distraction from his demons he should take. Women and Jake don’t mix well, yet protecting the heiress seems the lesser of two evils. But Jake soon discovers that she isn’t the woman she’s perceived to be. She’s warm, compassionate, her presence settling, and his duty to protect her soon goes deeper than a well-paid job, no matter how hard he fights it. He needs absolution. He comes to need Camille. Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD, but never one like this. After reviewing security videos, it becomes clear that the victims were killed by a sniper firing a tactical laser rifle, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled. Eve’s husband, Roarke, has unlimited resources—and genius—at his disposal. And when his computer program leads Eve to the location of the sniper, she learns a shocking fact: There were two—one older, one younger. Someone is being trained by an expert in the science of killing, and they have an agenda. Central Park was just a warm-up. He and I met under a cloud of clichés:
Boy meets girl. Boy charms girl. Boy screws girl.

Our story was supposed to end right after the orgasms, right after we went our separate ways.

But then we saw each other again…

And neither of us could walk away.

Our rules were simple.
Our passion was scandalous.
Our hearts were supposed to be safe…

But when you find something so all-consuming—something so intoxicating and inescapable, you’ll risk everything you’ve ever had, even if you’re destined to crash and burn.

This is us.
This is our messed up love.
This is turbulence.

Pre-boarding & Boarding Announcement:
Good morning romance readers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for Black Heart Reviews review of TURBULENCE by Whitney G. We are now inviting those readers who have been anxiously waiting for this new release, and any readers who love a cocky hero, to begin boarding at this time. Regular boarding will begin in approximately two seconds.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Captain has turned on the Fasten Seat Belt sign. If you haven’t already done so, please make sure your eReader is charged and ready to go because Whitney G. is about to take you on a ride riddled with passion, family drama, angst, heartache and Whitney’s patented knock your socks off love scenes.

Safety Briefing:
We remind you that this book has a dirty talking, cocky, Alpha hero. Readers who have an aversion to dirty-talking, cocky, Alpha heroes are prohibited on the entire aircraft, including the lavatories.

Now, if you’re a fan of the dirty talk, try holding on to your panties because Jake C. Weston is set on annihilating them. The filth that comes out of Whitney’s heroes mouths is one of the main reasons why she is an automatic buy author for me. The dirtier their mouths are the better, and Jake C. Weston is in fine form when he’s DTF. Let’s take a moment to read what kind of filth comes out of this sexy beast…

“I won’t be the guy you think you can call when you need to talk to someone. Unless it’s about how wet your pussy is, I don’t want your name on my call log, and I don’t need you thinking we’ll ever be friends.”

“We can talk tonight. We can talk about whatever the hell you want to talk about.”

“Tonight as in ‘the morning’ when we actually land in Paris, or ‘tonight’ as in right now?”

“Tonight as in right after we leave this restroom, as in right after I make you turn around against that door and remind you who your pussy belongs to.”

“What’s your favorite type of woman?”

“What?”

“You know, blonde, brunette, redhead. Those types.”

“I’ve never had a type.”

“Why not?”

“Because there’s not way for me to tell what a woman’s pussy is like just by looking at the color of the hair on her head.”

Gah! He is sooooo the Jerk of my dreams! Forget the hearts and flowers type of guy. Someone get me a Jake C. Weston, STAT! This man is on FIYAH!  😈

Turbulence:
Ladies and gentlemen, the Captain has turned on the fasten seat belt sign. We are now crossing a zone of turbulence. Please return your seats and keep your seat belts fastened. And for real, keep those seat belts fastened because Whitney G. has her jets set on full throttle and she don’t give a f*ck about your emotions.

As always, things are never smooth sailing for Whitney’s couples. Jake is a classic commitment phobe who was content on having emotionless sexual relationships with women in all the area codes. But things quickly change when he meets Gillian, a headstrong young woman that ignites a hunger in Jake that he hasn’t experienced in a long time. Jake’s insists that their relationship can be nothing more than hot f*cks in layover cities or airport bathrooms, but Gillian ins’t having any of that and makes a valiant effort to plant herself in Jake’s stubborn mind and hardened heart. Gillian and Jake’s complicated love story felt like a never-ending back and forth swing that wreaked havoc on an otherwise passionate and intense relationship, and I was simply glued to the pages wanting more and more of this couple.

But Gillian and Jake’s push and pull relationship wasn’t the only thing that had me holding on to my seat. Whitney throws in some family drama that always kept you on edge and wondering what the hell could be wrong with these people. I really wanted to throat punch every single member of Gillian’s pompous family. They were not nice people and it really made me admire Gillian’s strength and determination to not heed to their expectations of what they thought she needed to be. As for Jake’s family…well, there was some serious fucked-upness going on there. The deeply rooted lies and secrets of his family will disturb you, and make you as angry and jilted as Jake was. I loved discovering what made Jack the way he was, and I loved seeing the tender and heart aching moments that really made you understand where all his hate and resentment came from. Whitney definitely played with my emotions during some scenes and had my eyes wet with tears.

Landing:

On behalf of Black Heart Reviews and the entire crew, I’d like to thank Whitney G. for bringing me on this journey called TURBULENCE. I was practically salivating on my Kindle while reading Gillian and Jake’s explosive love story. Whitney is a master at combining witty banter, passionate love stories and HOT sex that’ll set your face on fire. The witty banter was on point. The humor was on point. The sex is ALWAYS on point. This book was everything I’ve come to love about Whitney and her writing, and was the perfect remedy to get me out of my most recent reading funk.

The wait for this book felt excruciatingly long, but the end result was totally worth it. Whitney G’s books are always enjoyable and I will always look forward to whatever hot read she has coming next. If you’ve been waiting on this book as long as I have, don’t wait any longer to read it. RUN to Amazon or B&N or wherever and purchase this book now!

A sugar daddy website doesn’t seem a sound basis for an A1 life plan, but I’m a small town girl with big dreams, and there’s this one advert, this one crazy advert I can’t stop thinking about…

Two hot guys seeking their Little Miss Right.
Someone who can entertain them, amuse them, fit in with their corporate schedule.
And sex. They want sex.
Lots of sex.
Bonus, right? One major dose of epic win.

Of course, guys like Carl and Rick have their conditions. One being that they come together, or not at all.
Hell, I can live with that.

And there are no skeletons in their designer closet, none that I can find.
Just two hot sugar daddies, with particular tastes, nothing to worry about.

Until Carl and Rick spill the big one, the one that sends the girls running. A whole string of them before me, running to the hills without so much as a backward glance.

Maybe I should run, too. Thanks but no thanks, see you around, guys, nice knowing you.
But I’m already in way too deep for that.

Warning – as with every other Jade West book, reader discretion is highly advised. This novel contains vivid depictions of MMF / MM relationships, and Jade’s characters, as always, have very filthy mouths. Mature readers only, please.

I have a confession. I’m a dirty, dirty bird. Like – I have this weird obsession with polyamory.  Menage relationships. Love stories that are so far from typical. I dig that shit. A lot. I’m pretty sure JA Huss’ 321 ruined me for all romances, because that book was H-O-T.

So, while I was perusing goodreads for my next erotic read, I found Sugar Daddies. That cover?  Helloooo!  So hot.  And the blurb?  Yuuup, instant one-click.

The story follows Rick and Carl (hate those names, sorry, but I do) who are in a relationship with each other. They’re bi, and like women, but they LOVE each other.  Seriously, love each other.  Their love is freaking adorable and I believed every ounce of their attraction and protectiveness.  Rick is covered in tattoos, piercings and just overall a super happy, free-spirited dude.  Carl is a bit on the scary side – business orientated, no filter when he talks, very blunt, very sexy.  (Oh, and his peen is like the size of Florida.  Scary big. *wiggles eyebrows.*)  They’re a perfect match.

Then comes Katie. She’s a horse enthusiast who works shit jobs and all she wants out of life is to have enough money to own land and work with horses and kids.  That’s it.  Nothing fancy, just happy content-ness with her furry friends.  And that’s why she signs up with the Sugar Daddy website – to find herself a rich man to shower her in dolla bills and make her dreams come true.

But she comes across Rick and Carl and thinks, I totally want to do two dudes at once.  SCORE!

So they meet. They jive. They hook up.

They hook up even more.

And more.

And sooooo much more.

And here is where my star rating comes in. Because, weirdly enough, I loved the plot. A lot. The characters are so well written. I can see them perfectly, their personalities, their looks, everything.  I loved the story, the drama, the love that develops…all of it.

But I hated the sex.

Like, a lot. And for the sex in an erotica book to be meh is a bit of a let down. The dirty talk was a bit revolting, to be perfectly honest, and incredibly unrealistic. To me. It was kind of gross and my nose would curl up a bit and I ended up just sliding the pages until the muff bumping was done and it went back to the actual story.

How lame am I?

So, anyway, I loved the story.  I just kind of despised the parts where they were naked.  But I’m glad I kept going because the plot was bomb and I really loved the ending.  It made my heart all fluttery and shit.

Behind the Cover Story ~ Reveal: The Silent Waters by Brittainy C. CherryThe Silent Waters by Brittainy C. Cherry
Series: Elements #3
September 23rd, 2016
Genres: Contemporary Romance

Moments.

Our lives are a collection of moments. Some utterly painful and full of yesterday's hurts. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow's promises.

I’ve had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones—the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones—all included him.

I was eight years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories.

This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn’t love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises.

Of moments.

Can we take a second and appreciate the beauty of this cover?!

If you have seen the previous two covers really you can’t expect anything less than this magnificent looking beauty.

So I (Tiffany) met Brittainy in Vegas recently and let me tell you… She literally became my favorite person!  Let’s just say she’s this poetic gangster and so full of positive energy, her smiles are contagious.  We have a first look at her cover and a little insight. Enjoy!

What was the thought process behind your cover or the inspiration for it?

Brittainy: For the cover of The Silent Waters I definitely wanted it to have the same feel as the first two books in the series, yet also somehow tie in the despair of the hero with the photo! When I stumbled on the cover model on Instagram I knew he was going to be on my cover! He just embodies everything that is Brooks.

I love that! Is there anything specific you want readers to know about this book? Also can this be read as a standalone?

Brittainy: I’d love readers to know that this is a story about two people and the moments that broke them, and the moments in life that healed them. It’s a story of moments. It can be read as a complete standalone!

See I told you, she’s like a modern Edgar Allan Poe, like I don’t think I have ever loved the word MOMENTS so much!

Once more lets totally admire this full wrap cover, because well it gorgeous!

Everyone make sure to add this beauty to you TBR! We can’t wait for it!

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

This book.

Eff me, this book.

It’s been days, maybe even weeks, since I finished and my stomach still hurts when I think about it.

I’m not sure why I started it.  I’m a huge fan of Colleen Hoover as a person (I mean, come on.  She’s hilarious.  Freakishly giving.  Her family is adorkable.  She’s just…the best.)   And then with her books I’m hit or miss.  Half of them are 5+ stars and destroy me, or I DNF them.  There’s no in between.  I didn’t plan to read this book, but somehow it was on my audiobook purchased list (no idea how) so I just said, “fuck it,” and started it.

The narrators kind of bothered me at first.  I wasn’t diggin’ the male voice at the beginning, and the chick sounded like a less annoying Miley Cyrus.  I almost switched to ebook version at one point… but before I knew it, the story had sucked me in and the voices just seemed right.

Anyway, Ugly Love follows two main characters.  Tate, the female, is in present tense.  Miles, the male character, in the past.   While we listen to Tate’s life in the now, her story with Miles in the now, we hear about Miles’ past from him.  So while their relationship seems like a disastrous hot mess, we’re given these little pieces of Mile’s past and it all starts to make sense why he is the way he is.

I connected to Miles on such a personal level.  What he goes through, what he felt…I’ve been there.  I’ve felt that.  I won’t say what, because it’s a huge spoiler, but Miles is… perfection.  Yes, he’s a fucking asshole as an adult.  But Miles as a teenage is EVERYTHING.  Everything.  Seriously.  Young Miles is the epitome of perfection, and I loved him.  I rooted for him, all while I knew it wasn’t going to end well because I could see what he was like as an adult.  An asshole.  Jaded.  Mean.  Stand-offish.  Broken.  Miles as an adult is fucking broken in so many pieces you can’t even imagine all those jagged edges finding their match and him being whole again.

And that killed me.  To know he was that fucked up.  And that adorable, perfect, hopeful young Miles was going to be destroyed in a terrible, awful way.

Miles and Tate are pretty much fuck buddies.  All sex, no feelings.  Don’t ask about each other’s pasts, don’t expect a future, just enjoy the now when it happens.

That’s obviously a disaster waiting to happen.

Anyway, I don’t know how else to describe this book without giving things away. But I can tell you it made me feel everything. I felt a ton of joy.  And I felt even more heartbreak.  My black, evil little heart fucking broke so hard at one point I was a sobbing, snotty mess.  Seriously, I cried my fucking eyes out.  The pain I felt was visceral and it destroyed me.

Colleen Hoover is a fucking genius, and this book is 5+ stars on my scale.  I loved it.  I loved all the ugly parts and all the beautiful ones.

From the bestselling author of PS, I Love You comes a delightfully enchanting novel about what happens when two people who are meant to be together just can't seem to get it right.

Rosie and Alex are destined for one another, and everyone seems to know it but them. Best friends since childhood, their relationship gets closer by the day, until Alex gets the news that his family is leaving Dublin and moving to Boston. At 17, Rosie and Alex have just started to see each other in a more romantic light. Devastated, the two make plans for Rosie to apply to colleges in the U.S.

She gets into Boston University, Alex gets into Harvard, and everything is falling into place, when on the eve of her departure, Rosie gets news that will change their lives forever: She's pregnant by a boy she'd gone out with while on the rebound from Alex.

Her dreams for college, Alex, and a glamorous career dashed, Rosie stays in Dublin to become a single mother, while Alex pursues a medical career and a new love in Boston. But destiny is a funny thing, and in this novel, structured as a series of clever e-mails, letters, notes, and a trail of missed opportunities, Alex and Rosie find out that fate isn't done with them yet.

I’m going to start by saying I am definitely torn with how I feel about this book.  I listened to it, which was a total pleasure since it’s narrated by an Irish lassie and her accent is absolutely delectable.  The main characters are Irish and the book setting is mainly in Ireland and Boston.  So, listening to the verbiage in an Irish accent made my stomach all happy and content.

The book focuses on two main characters, Rosie and Alex.  It’s told entirely in letters, instant messages, emails, etc…. which is kind of fun and refreshing.   Alex and Rosie are BFFs since toddler age, and the story starts with them as wee bairns, talking about birthday parties and such.  It follows them through middle school, first girlfriends/boyfriends, first kisses, high school, college… then twenties.  Thirties.  Fourties.  FIFTIES.  Like… sweet Jesus.  Talk about a life story.

There are a TON of side characters.  Lots of side stories.  I loved it all.  All the characters are quirky and weird and interesting, and its really fun to see what happens through different eyes and opinions.

Anywho – Rosie and Alex.  Definitely destined to be together, eh?  And I would totally label this as a second-chance romance.  But let me tell you something important… it’s a fekkin’ journey to get to the HEA.  Yes, there is one, and at times you’re going to be SO FREAKING frustrated with the story and what happens that you’ll want to DNF.  Multiple times.  It’s a long damn story and it’s not all hearts and rainbows.  It’s actually kind of exhausting.

BUT, if you stick with it… if you decide to tough it out, enjoy the quirky little characters and what happens to them, you’ll finish the book in satisfactory condition.  Kind of.

Gah, I know this is the hottest mess of a review – but I can’t help it.  I loved the story.  But I kinda hated it, too.

I guess it’s been published under different titles, and it’s a movie, too – so I’m definitely going to check out the movie.  The guy that plays Alex is the dude who’s in Me Before You, plus this author wrote P.S. I Love You.   So….  watching the movie is sooo happening.  I’m interested to see how the book translates to film, because this plot would be hard to execute.

Anyway, cute story.  At times it was a five star listen, and at times I wanted to throw my phone out the car window… so I’m averaging this bad boy at 3 happy little Irish stars.   🙂
