ONLY THROUGH BLOOD CAN THE DEEPEST REDEMPTION BE FOUND…

He was born to ascend.
He was destined to lead.
He was never meant to fail.

Prophet Cain lies broken and defeated on the floor of his cell. A cell he has been thrown into by the one person who was supposed to stand by his side until the end. His flesh and blood, his only companion. His beloved twin brother.
Cain has sacrificed everything for his people. He left the safety and security of his life of study to infiltrate the infamous Hades Hangmen. He lived with them, rode with them, and then betrayed them. All in the name of a faith he can now feel slipping away from him. Like everything else he once held dear…

But then his isolation is broken. Another prisoner is brought to the cell next to his. A woman fighting her own demons and fears. A woman who Cain understands needs him, as he needs her.

As the connection between them grows, so does Cain’s resolve. He will right the wrongs he has done. He will atone for the evil acts carried out in his name. He will save the one he loves…
… Even if the battle takes him to the gates of hell itself.

ALL HAIL THE PROPHET!

What the fuck did I just read?! Like did all of that really happen?! Did my eyes just digest all the words Tillie spilt on these pages, pages that I adore might I add. (No surprise there I am sure!) Now at that the risk of sounding like a broken record I am going to say Deep Redemption was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, let’s be real here, all of TC’s books rank high on my list but this one even more so as book three in the Hades Hangmen Series ,Unfractured Souls, left a big gaping hole in my heart! *cue the dramatics*

We all know the ending of that and I will refrain from elaborating for anyone who hasn’t yet read this MC series or maybe just hasn’t yet read book 3.  I’m not sure I would call it a cliffhanger but it definitely left a lot of doors open for speculation.

So how did I really feel… Confused, infuriated, happy, REALLY HAPPY, REALLY SAD, and then complete, basically I felt all of it.  Which is expected of course but still my emotions could not control themselves with this book, they raged and literally made me lose my mind.  So many revelations for so many characters, so much growth and set backs in said characters.  All the complexities are what make this series one of my all time faves!

13728294_1601907406806006_1774338067_o

Now remember all those emotions from above, well I’m going to try and base my review off of those to keep this as SPOILER FREE as possible. Here we go in order:

  1. Confused- I know I’m supposed to hate Rider/ Cain but I didn’t I mean I finally understood him and it helped me to see him in a different perspective. Granted its not like I hated him to begin with but I was mad at him. Bottom line I love him, not in the way I love Styx but he repented in a way I couldn’t imagine him doing if he wasn’t truly sorry or remorseful.
  2. Infuriated- I will forever HATE Judah, I mean all caps shouting and shit hate him! Fuck him! Sadistic-pedophile prick and that little whore Sarai, no just no, I mean since Souls Unfractured I’ve wanted to gut that little cult freak my damn self.  This covers nothing of the infuriation I feel but know there’s more reason but remember I’m trying to stay spoiler free and shit.
  3. Happy- Finally things were changing paths and I loved it, there was a little weight lifted from my heart for these characters. Enter Harmony, God I love her with something fierce.  I truly believe she is Rider/Cain’s redemption.  But more than that she brought a fresh view she was strong and held her ground (not that I didn’t love the others, cause Mae is my best friend) she fought so hard that she demanded her respect but not just for herself she stood for Rider when no one else would.
  4. REALLY SAD- Sad fucking piercing ugly girl crying sad. Just unleashed no fucking way hurt all the way down to my soul and then back up again sad. I wish I could say exactly what made me sad and basically vomit in my own mouth.  Only two other books have soiled me from the inside like that creating rage then seeping into sadness for the unfairness of the situation.
  5. Complete- Now a lot happened from my above sad but this is thing, all the things, I never finish a book from Tillie and think I wish there were more or this feels unresolved. I feel whole like all the small details are there and every conflict has reached a resolution, well all the ones that needed to be resolved at least until the next book. Like all the trials I have been put through by the hands of TC have all been part of a bigger picture a puzzle piece locking into place.

After reading through this I’ve realized this is over 600 words of me just just ranting and I sort of apologize for that but I mean really this puts us four books in now so if you are already a Hangmen fan you get the gist.  If you are completely new to this series hopefully my emotions will want to help provoke some of your own, and I would highly recommend it seeing as the first four books are .99 each!

One shy lost soul.
One silent lonely heart.
One love to save them both.

Life has never been easy for twenty-year-old Levi Carillo. The youngest of the Carillo boys, Levi is nothing like his older brothers. He isn’t dark in looks or intimidating to everyone he meets. In fact, he’s quite the opposite. Haunted by a crippling shyness and the tragic events of his past, Levi spends his days with his head buried in his books, or training hard for his college football team. Too timid to talk to girls, Levi stays as far away as possible and completely on his own… until he saves the life of a troubled pretty blonde, a troubled pretty blonde that might just be the exception to his rule.

Elsie Hall is homeless. Or at least that’s all anyone ever sees. Everyday is a fight for survival on the cold streets of Seattle, everyday a struggle to find food and keep warm. Alone in life—a life that’s dangerous and cruel—her will to keep going is an ever-losing battle. In her world of silence, Elsie has given up hope that her life will contain anything but constant struggle and pain… until the beautiful boy she has severely wronged comes to her rescue at precisely the right time.

New Adult novel—contains sexual situations and mature topics. Suited for ages 18 and up.

Have you ever read a book and been so intertwined with the characters and their world that you no longer have a sense of what is real or fiction?!

Have you ever read a book and been captivated by the shear amount of emotions being evoked within your soul?!

Have you ever read a book and and had to put your life on pause because there’s no way you can attempt to move on just yet?!

If  you have read anything by Tillie Cole than you have felt all of the above… So here I am 2,220 pages and five books later to be technical and I am left with the most bitter sweet feeling, EVER! It’s no surprise that The Sweet Home series is my favorite of all time and each book has claimed apart of my BLACK HEART, hell, it  claimed it entirely chambers and all.

Seeing as Sweet Soul was never planned but happened because there was such a demand I already knew Levi had a HEA from the Epilogue of Sweet Hope, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t struggle through many trials leading up to his happily ever after.  We watched him grow from a boy to a young man and even though he was never a main focal point in the books prior his character was none the less very prominent. In Sweet Hope there was a devastatingly, heartbreaking scene between him and Axel (Elpi) that brought me to my knees and that was one of the first times where I felt like I really got to experience Levi Carillo for more than just a younger brother to Austin and Axel. This shy boy was so much more than what we merely saw on the surface.

Elsie, Elsie, Elsie… As mentioned we knew she existed but knew nothing of her so meeting this kind-hearted  young woman was a complete treat! She broke my soul in so many ways, this silent broken girl, had endured events that I could have never imagined coming into this book. I loved the REALness of the issues she had and how it made me reflect on my own life and be even more grateful than I am for things that are easily taken for granted.

…Cruelty, the victor, not hope…

Levi brought a world of sound to Elsie’s silent and lonely life while in return she gave a voice to a shy, shy boy. The connection these two harbored was apparent from the beginning, but it wasn’t the kind of instant-love where you roll your eyes and want to punch someone, it was perfectly timed and in tune. These two had matching souls and it shone as bright as the moon, but add in some not so nice souls and it is bound to cause demons to make themselves known. Bullying was a big subject in this novel, it painted a picture of just how how damaging someones’s cruel intentions can be. How lasting someones careless tongue can cause a lifetime of self loathing and uncertainty making you believe you are in a world you don’t belong.

But… what was one of the most beautiful parts of this story was experiencing Levi help to see Elsie past her battered past that plagued her future. He too had many of his own trials that affected him but out of pure love, instead of worrying about himself he chose to let his love help heal another. Now Elsie was not just magically cured in a day nor was Levi but they were one another’s life line, and they created such a breathtaking dependency.

She understood. With few words, and little explanation, I knew Elsie understood me.

I can say plenty more but basically if you haven’t read this series, than you should! Just in case you take my word for it I’ve listed the order of series here, and to read Sweet Soul it is highly recommended you at least read all the Carillo Brothers novels.

Sweet Home (Rome & Molly #1)

Sweet Rome (Sweet Home retell in Rome’s POV #2)

Sweet Fall (Austin & Lexi #3)

Sweet Hope (Elpidio & Ally #4)

Sweet Soul (Levi & Elsie #5)

About Tillie Cole

After years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or in her dream of pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap, Stetson-wearing cowgirl… Ye-haw!
Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her mother — a farmer’s daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.

Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish, which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Labeled a ‘Cursed’ woman of Eve from birth, Maddie has endured nothing but pain and repression at the hands of The Order’s most abusive elder, Moses. Now living with her sister in The Hangmen’s secluded compound, finally, Maddie, is free. Free from the suffocating faith she no longer believes in. Free from endless years of physical and mental torment.

Just… free…

At age twenty-one, the timid and shy Maddie is content to live within the confines of her new home—safe from the outside world, safe from harm and, strangely, protected by the Hangmen’s most volatile member; the heavily pierced and tattooed, Flame.

Flame.

The man who ceaselessly watches over her with his midnight dark and searing eyes.
The man who protects her with a breath-taking intensity. And the man who stirs something deep within her numbed heart.

But when circumstances conspire for Flame to need HER help, Maddie bravely risks it all for the broken man who has captivated her fragile soul.

The Hangmen’s most infamous member, Flame, is ruled by one thing—anger. Plagued by haunting demons from his past, an all-consuming rage, and isolated by an abhorrent hatred of being touched, Flame's days are filled with suffocating darkness, pierced only by a single ray of light—Maddie. The shy, beautiful woman he cannot purge from his thoughts. The woman he has an overwhelming need to possess…

... the only person who has ever been able to touch him.

Flame’s mission in life is to protect Maddie, to keep her safe. Until a trigger from his troubled past sends him spiraling into madness, trapping him in the deepest recesses of his disturbed mind.

His Hangmen brothers fear that Flame is beyond saving.

His only hope of salvation: Maddie and her healing light.

Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains explicit sexual situations, violence, disturbingly sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language, and very mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and over.

When Tillie Cole writes I easily forget that I am reading the works of a single woman but feel like the characters themselves are telling me a story…

My collection of words will not be able to convey how truly complex this novel is, I just hope I can shed a tiny light on how brutally beautiful Flame and Maddie’s story happens to be. The thing about this book is that I was having such a hard time letting it go and moving on, to be honest I didn’t want to review it right away because I wanted to be selfish with this pair and allow them to live in my soul for as long as possible, but I think the entire world should be reading this series!

He was still the man who protected me. He was still the silent shadow that kept me safe. The man I had missed with the most incredible fervor.

These two have such a tortured past that serves as a daily reminder of just how broken their lives have become. Being as this is the third book in the series we learned of Maddie’s past in the previous two books and the endless hours of rape that she fell victim to. Which leaves her frigid and afraid of anything and everything but from the sanctuary of her window she seems to hang on to the only constant that comforts her… Flame. Now he has always been a mystery to us, all we knew was that he was psycho, no more and no more less but experiencing his past but me in a rage! The things this ruggedly beautiful man had to live through do more than break my heart in half. There were multiple times when reading that I could only endure maybe 5 minutes at a time but every single word that was given in his regards is more than necessary to uncover FLAME.

My heart fluttered when I admitted to myself that I liked the way he watched me.

Even though Flame is amazing beyond belief I loved Maddie just as much, if not more I have a major girl crush on her. She was so selfless and adapted to any situation and just wanted to care for Flame in any way she could as if that were her life mission. Her intensity and loyalty to him just makes you happy and filled with pride.

Lastly, there were a few surprises that occurred one which shall remain nameless, but I can tell you that I am anxiously awaiting for Deep Redemption and to finally see if redemption can be granted to the so called villain.
